Parents of Performing Students (POPS)  POPS
Mission Statement
The purpose of POPS
is to foster, encourage and support the many aspects of performing arts education
in the Wellesley Public schools; to enrich the scope of student involvement and
to stimulate broad community interest in program. Membership is open to all parents
and/or guardians of children who are enrolled in the Wellesley Public Schools.
Wellesley POPS, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
Congratulations
to long time POPS parent and Executive Board Member Susan Logue, who was
recognized at the recent METG drama festival at WHS with the David Dooley Award.
David was a supervisor at Finals for many years and he had a passion for the festival.
The award is meant to be given out to someone from the host school who exemplifies
the hard work and passion David demonstrated. Susan was chosen by Drama teacher
Stephen Wrobleski, who mentioned that the award can go to anyone: student, teacher,
volunteer, etc. Wro chose Susan for her great leadership in amassing all the volunteers
and getting everyone organized. POPS

Performing Arts students appear in the Wellesley Townsman during the school
year. Ten WHS seniors are chosen each year by WHS teachers, two each from the
disciplines of Choir, Band, Orchestra, Dance and Theater. See who has been honored
