WELLESLEY PUBLIC SCHOOLS PERFORMING ARTS

Go to large format Performing Arts Calendar

"The House of Blue Leaves" - first performed off-Broadway in 1971 and then again in a 2011 revival starring Ben Stiller, Edie Falco, and Jennifer Jason Leigh - will be Wellesley High School's inaugural spring play in the new WHS drama classroom's theater this May. Centered on the Pope's 1965 visit to New York City, the black comedy features nuns, a political bombing, a GI headed for Vietnam, a zookeeper who dreams of making it big in Hollywood, his schizophrenic stay-at-home wife Bananas, and his vivacious mistress Bunny. Come see this crazy mix of comedy and tragedy, truth and absurdity. Performances will be in Wellesley High School, Drama Room 165, on Thursday-Saturday, May 3-5 with shows at 4 and 7:30 PM each day. Tickets available at the door: $10 Adults, $5 Students (K-12), Senior Citizens - Free
