Friends Of Wellesley METCO, Inc.

Friends of Wellesley METCO, Inc. is an independent charitable organization dedicated to helping Wellesley’s METCO students make the most of the educational opportunities provided by the METCO program.

We are a diverse, all-volunteer group comprised of parents and teachers in the Wellesley community, and parents of METCO students from Boston. 

We seek donations from area residents, houses of worship and non-other non-profits, businesses, educators, and from the Boston community.  We use these funds to:

  • subsidize a broad range of educational support programs, including academic summer programs for elementary students; after-school tutoring in mathematics for elementary and middle-school students; and SAT test preparation for high school students; 
  • provide academic achievement awards; 
  • award scholarships to METCO graduates and alumni as they pursue a post-secondary education.
